Q: I don't want to put in all of my personal information when I sign up for an account. Do I have to?
No. Username, password, and a valid e-mail address are the only things that are required. Your e-mail address will be kept private and confidential.
Q: I am applying to med schools outside of the United States. Does Med School Countdown have resources for that?
At the moment, we only have school information, graphs, and the "What Are My Chances" function for medical schools in the United States. However, please feel free to discuss other med schools in the Forums section of the site.
Q: What do I put for 'state of residence' if I don't live in the United States?
We have entries for the 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and US Military Abroad. We also have the Canadian Provinces. If you do not live in any of these places, please select 'other'.
Q: How do you know if the members of the site are being honest?
Because these accounts are anonymous, there is no way to know for sure if people are being honest or not. Because this is a community devoted to helping each other, we hope that most people are telling the truth. However, please take this information with a grain of salt, because there may be some people who are being dishonest.
